2017 ICD-10-CM Diagnosis Code F90.9
ADHD is a behavioral disorder marked by developmentally inappropriate inattention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity in at least two settings, at home and in school for example. The diagnosis of ADHD is more common in males than in females, with onset beginning in childhood, with at least some of the symptoms occurring before the age of 7.
Is it difficult for your child to sit still? Does your child act without thinking first? Does your child start, but not finish things?
These are some of the questions that will be used to asses if your child has ADHD. Medication is commonly used to treat the symptoms of ADHD, however, psychotherapy can be helpful for the whole family and changes to the environment can also be helpful.
